Our School’s P&C and Community

The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) is a group of community-minded people, parents and citizens, who take on a more formal role to assist the school by providing feedback on school policies and activities, additional resources to be used to enhance student learning and parents with opportunities to be involved in their child’s education.

Research has shown that parent involvement in a child’s education makes a significant contribution to the child’s success at school.  The school has an active P&C and Student School Council which represents the issues of our students, parents/carers. The P&C works to improve life at the school for all students.  The Student School Council meets once per term to reflect on school performance and set strategic direction.  An important part of our school's junior secondary agenda is parent and community involvement.  We welcome parents into the school for assemblies, to meet with teachers or to participate in sporting carnivals and cultural events.

The objectives of the Association are to promote the interests of, and facilitate the
development and further improvement of the school, by promoting parent participation, encouraging close cooperation between parents, students and staff and promoting positive community support. P&C members have an active say in the development of school policies, procedures and initiatives.  Members also have an opportunity to provide feedback to the school administration on a variety of topics relevant to the management of the school.

The P&C operates a uniform shop and its operating hours are advertised in our school newsletter, which is emailed to our parents (OPEN: Monday and Friday 8:00 – 8:45am P&C Room at the Willy Ross Snack Shack). The Willy Ross Snack Shack operates from Monday to Friday during school hours. Menus and pricing of regular items available from the tuck shop and are available through our newsletter.  Please leave your contact details with school administration staff if you are able to help out, even if it is only once a month, every little bit helps.

Parents, carers and community members are welcome to join the William Ross State High school P&C association.  Our P&C Association is an integral part of the school and we are very proud of the role the parents have played in shaping our school. There are many ways in which you can become involved in the school and as a family new to the area this is also a great way to meet new people.  Our meetings are informal and are a terrific way of finding out what is happening in the school and what is being planned. All parents/carers and community members are welcome to attend.  William Ross State High school is a progressive school to be a part of and we plan for our students to transition smoothly and be successful.

Please contact the school Principal Mr Alan Evans email:  if you require further information regarding our school’s P&C.
